With the bulk of the investing world dominated by institutions like pension funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds and sophisticated quantitative traders out there, investing seems to be a game run by sophisticated team of analysts. It doesn't have to be like this!
I don't believe you need to have a degree in finance nor MBA nor CFA to understand investing. What's more important is that you never stop learning. You do know need to know numbers and have a good grasps of what money means to you. Investing is full of numbers but I can assure you, it's looking at the right numbers that is more important!
I hope in my blogs, you'll be able to understand investing in a more comprehensible way. Perhaps you will not be able to invest like some pro, at the very least, I hope you've gain confident in what stock picks allowing your to buy securities at fair prices and more importantly, with a peace of mind.
Here are some of my basic principles of investing:
- Invest with with a long-term perspective
- Use a common sense approach
- Don't over complicate things
- Stick to what you understand
- Never ever over pay for what it's worth
Keep reading and learning!
